Gold Two Pounds (or Double Sovereign) of Queen Victoria, dated 1887. The obverse features the crowned and veiled bust of the queen, known as the Jubilee Head as it was introduced to celebrate her Golden Jubilee.
Unlike ‘full’ Sovereigns, double sovereigns were not minted consistently through the nineteenth century.
