2008 $5 Centenary of the Rugby League Silver Proof Coin

Rugby League has always been a favourite in NSW and Queensland states of Australia, but with the popularity it has truly grown into a national competition, it is no longer a game played only in NSW and Queensland with the game being played across the country, the National Rugby League (NRL) promoting the great game to the heights it has become.

The five dollar silver proof coin released by the Royal Australian Mint features a player in motion and another going in for a side diving tackle. The theme for this spectacular silver coin is 'Celebrating the Present' of the game.

This coin has a limited mintage of only 10,000 coins and comes with a numbered certificate.
