2025 $1 Year of the Snake 1oz Silver Proof Coloured Four-Coin Quadrant Set

$580

Celebrating the Year of the Snake, this set consists of four legal tender 1oz silver proof pieces that fits together to form a circle with a square in the centre, reminiscent of the first currency of the Chinese empire. These ‘ban liang’ coins were first cast during the Qin Dynasty around 200BCE. The Snake is significant in traditional Chinese culture as one of 12 animals that participated in the Emperor’s Great Race, held to determine the order of their appearance in the lunar calendar. A dominant creature said to control nature, the snake finished sixth and has subsequently reigned during every sixth year in the 12-year lunar cycle – including 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013 and 2025. Bestowed with wisdom, intelligence, independence, and charm, those born in the Year of the Snake are regarded as deep thinkers with natural charisma, intuitive and good problem solvers.
